Year Round Events in the Eastern Piedmont Region of North Carolina

A walk through the North Carolina Zoological Park.  Every exhibit is on the trail.  Besides the animals, there are many flower and art exhibits.

A walk through residential and downtown areas of a City known for its fabric mills.  The trail passes through a park with a historic carousel.

A walk through the downtown and residential areas.  A greenway trail through a park is included.

A walk through four parks.  The first park, Tannenbaum Park, is a restoration of a Revolutionary War period farm.  The next two parks are recreational with athletic facilities and a lake.  Finally, the trail goes through the Guilford Courthouse National Battlefield where a major battle of the Revolutionary War was fought.  There are many memorials and informative markers.  A greenway is also included.

A walk through the downtown, passing hundreds of furniture showrooms, to a greenway.  The greenway runs along a stream to a regional historical museum.

A walk on paved greenways and nature trails of the Piedmont Environmental Center, a environmental and educational facility which maintains a large nature preserve.  A walker may choose to do the entire walk on the greenway, avoiding the rougher trails.
