Enjoy walking with a group that enjoys walking

Walk with people who enjoy walking. Set a pace which allows you to enjoy the scenery. Our 10 kilometer walks are in areas of historical interest or scenic beauty such as parks and in conjunction with events of community interest. The Winston Wanderers Walking Club is located in the Piedmont of North Carolina, including Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point.  The club is affiliated with The Tarheel State Walkers VolksSports Association (TSWVA), The American VolksSports Association (AVA), and The International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). We hold weekend walks in the Central North Carolina area and have permanent trails located throughout the state.

The Winston Wanderers have finally found a new home for the starting point for our 3 Winston-Salem walks. I would like to thank the Visitors Center for hosting the start box for the past years. During a time of economic downturn, the Visitors center had to cut hours for the weekends--our main walking time. The new starting point will be just around the corner at the new Gateway YWCA.

There is also a re-worked trail to celebrate the occasion. (It is still a 10 km walk - editor)

MOUNT AIRY YEAR ROUND EVENT START POINT:

The shortened hours and limited days they were open led to the move from the Gertrude Smith House. We want to thank them for the many years that they have hosted the box there and Dr. Robert Smith House. The New starting point will be at the visitor’s center, under the time clock in the middle of downtown. The box was moved today 9/30/09, so feel free to go and welcome them to our family.
